Jon Klassen is from Ontario, Canada, and now he lives in Los Angeles and works on animation and book projects. He likes folk tales and the art that goes with them. The work he does on his own doesnt have many themes, but he enjoys thinking about inanimate objects and places where things happen on their own. He won both the American Caldecott Medal and the British Kate Greenaway Medal for children’s book illustration for This Is Not My Hat which he also wrote. He is the first person to win both awards for the same work.
